Bob Lightfoot is a Shareholder in the Health Care Practice Group at Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren s.c. in Madison, Wisconsin. He represents nursing homes, assisted living facilities and hospitals in the areas of survey and certification, licensure, regulatory compliance, operations risk management, HIPAA compliance, and transactional matters. He represents the health care industry on numerous matters before State and Federal agencies, including the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the U.S. Attorneys’ Office and the Wisconsin Department of Justice. He also represents health care and other licensed professionals in license matters before the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Serves, formerly known as the Wisconsin Department of Regulation & Licensing.
Bob was recognized by the "Best Lawyers" publication and website as the Health Care Lawyer of the Year for 2012 and has been listed as a best lawyer every year since 2009. Bob has also been recognized in Madison Magazine as one of the top health care lawyers in Dane County.
He is a frequent speaker on health care facility regulation, operations and issues affecting health care professionals and is a contributor to the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association Newsletter.
Bob is a member of the Center for Excellence in Assisted Living (CEAL) Advisory Council. He is also a licensed Registered Nurse and brings to his law practice nearly a decade of nursing experience. In 1993 he served as the Dehn Medico-Legal Fellow at the Marshfield Clinic.
